why was INCEPTION 'mind-boggling' for me?

Why was INCEPTION 'mind-boggling' for me?

*MAJOR*SPOILERS*

----

First and foremost, i follow the theory that the end scene was reality. Here i am not writing abt the end scene.

The film starts off in a fast-paced way, and the audience is shown something called 'dream hacking'.
The concept of dream hacking is not fully clear until Ariadne (Ellen Page) is given the demo/experience by Cobb (Leo). So, Nolan throws an idea but doesnt give the explanation or details at the outset [which cud hav been done, as it hav been typically done, thru a news bulletin]. In Inception, the audience learns from the events as the film proceeds.

[whereas, had in the story Cobb bought an experienced architect instead of Page, the script had to be written in a different manner in order for the film to be made sense of (ya, i know for some, it doesnt make that much sense) ]

Inception is mind-boggling coz we wonder what the object found on Cobb --in the first scene-- is, we wonder why the dream hackers have to look at the watch, and how&why;everything collapses in the first scenes.

The character of Leo, and his projection of Mal, makes us question who Mal is (IS, coz we dont know it yet that she is dead); and why is Leo so affected by her.
It is not until the full back story of her death is shown that one can even remotely understand her behaviors and mannerisms. i.e, the mental state of Cobb is also much unclear until then.

By the time the Van Chase dream starts, the audience knows what's happening. (off course unless they were busy making out! --which given the nature of the film, is highly unlikely; but not impossible, if ppl are very desperate--

A frnd, who is a Nolan fan had said that he needed to watch The Dark Knight more than twice to understand the significance of the dialogs. I read some articles which suggests the same for Inception. Esp w/ the dialog "...old man.. filled with regrets... waiting to die alone..".

P.S. I hav watched it only once --[and read a handfull of reviews, articles and interviews after that]-- so i may be drawing early conclusions.

I had written the above on 23-24 july, 2010, but due to certain problems, i am publishing it only now..

AND

my really bad bookmark list of #Inception stuff--

Thx to and for tweeting some of the more useful links that i am able to put here--
